Halloween 2017

Halloween Day was such a busy day in our household. Joaquin had a field trip to a nearby museum and of course trick or treating! This year he decided to go as Jack Skellington.. HE IS OBSESSED with the movie. He was so excited to learn that the museum had an exhibition of the actual Jack and parts of the movie set. It was a cold rainy day but it was all worth it.

Here are some pics of the day.

Whoa there!!

Uh hello there, how is it possible that I haven't been here in such a long time?? So much has happened since the last time I was here, where to begin..seriously one of the most important things that comes to mind at this moment is my baby Joaquin started and finished Pre-K and is now in Kinder! I cried, I laughed, I was proud, I cried some more, I took tons of pictures and it all just went by too fast. I remember driving by his school with him in his car seat and telling him "Look Kiki in a few more years you will be going to this school!" and here we are.

Here is a picture of my love on his first day of Pre-K..

The Rockin Bead - Update

So the little store that could is still going. There has been many ups and tons of downs but i haven't given up! I want to say that my thing is lack of social media promoting. I am not too good at it, and I am shy. I once saw a pic of someone selling jewelry and another person wrote that they were copying and that someone else had that charm, and both went on and on and that SCARED me. I mean there are only so many stores to buy charms and of course people are going to have the same charm.. I worry too much about what if that person things I am copying them. Another thing that I am getting better at is pricing. Painting beads and the process of getting the lines straight and neat is hard work, and although I am aware that is a ton of work I often feel bad pricing them. I often think well I want the shopper to find good quality at a good price and, as a mom myself, I want them to save. I am getting better at getting the right balance.

Still Going Strong..

Jeez! It's been quite a while since I wrote on my little space in the "blog world". I would like to dedicate this special space to my mother in law Maria. To say that she was the music anywhere she went couldn't be more true. She lit up every space, she fit anywhere you would put her, and she always had a funny story that will make even the most depress laugh. She died 5/11/16. Her laugh lives on through her children and her entire family. I was very fortunate to call her my mother in law. I like to imagine that her and my grandmother met up and hugged and just laughed..they were very fond of each other. Till we meet again.

This is a picture of my grandmother and my mother in-law the day my cousin had her quincenera.

My Little Store

During my two month recovery period I started my little etsy store The Rockin Bead. I always make little knick-knacks for my niece Valentina and one of those things I make for her are beaded bracelets. There are tons of beautiful shops out there that make really pretty ones but hey it doesn't hurt to make extra 20-30 bucks every now and then. Plus I gotta say I have really good prices. I LOVE making/creating/DIY things and this is something that relaxes me and honestly relieves stress.

Hello

Wow its been such a long time!! I am thankful to be back here blogging.

Where have I been?!?! I finally had my long anticipated surgery to remove my fibroid. Surgery day was very easy, got to the hospital and all the doctors and nurses were amazing. They all took the extra time to make sure i understood everything and that i was comfortable. Surgery did however take a little longer than doctors expected because the fibroid was a lot larger than we first thought. I also want to mention that the texture of the fibroid was "different" from your common one and the doctors feared it was cancerous. Thank God that the results came back negative!! I took 2 months off of work because it was pretty much a C-Section.The first week was HORRIBLE I was regretting everything and felt miserable. After the first week i was feeling so much better and just thankful to be done with that! Long story short right now I am doing so much better! My menstrual cycles are so short 2 days compared to 2-3 weeks!! I don't have anemia anymore. Overall i feel like a new person!

This is just a little of what my surgery and recovery was like. I am excited to be back and blog about life.

Talk to you all soon.

Weekend Celebrations

Hope you all had a great weekend and an amazing mother's day. Could we work on making the weekend a 4 day weekend?? who's with me! (hey a girl can dream). We had so many things going on I'm going to make it short and sweet. Friday we took the boys to Barnes and Noble they had fun reading some books and playing with the toys they have there we then picked up pizza and wings after that and just chilled at home. Saturday morning we went to have breakfast at our favorite Mexican restaurant, went to a few stores, boys went swimming then home to rest for a bit, later that evening we took off to Red Robin to celebrate Omar's birthday. He had so much fun that day tried our best to make his special day wonderful! Sunday was a bittersweet day for us, we all met at my sisters house to celebrate mothers day. The hubby made BBQ and some yummy desserts (desserts were store bought). It was hard not picking up the phone to call my grandmother we miss her terribly. We released some balloons in her honor. Short summary of our weekend celebrations.
