Goodbye 2014!

As the clock ticks the last minutes of 2014 I can't help but be thankful for everything that happened this year. I know there were some things that were not good, but somehow it lead me to where I am today and most importantly drew me closer to God. I am blessed with a healthy family and that alone is all I need and want. I believe that being thankful regardless of the circumstances is Key to a happy life. I read, and follow Baby Boy Bakery and Wow! Jacqui and her husband are beyond amazing. I've learned so much and I am a better person because of them... I admire them so much! They are the true example of being Thankful. So guy's always ALWAYS be thankful!!

Here's to a Happy, Healthy, and Blessed 2015..God Bless !!

Much Love,
Gladys

Hey guys! Can you believe Christmas is only a few days away...EEEK!!! I am done with shopping and wrapping and this year my lovely sister is hosting Christmas so yay! Most of my ornaments came from Walmart.... I did buy several at Dollar General and found one at the thrift store (I'll point it out on the picture).

We went for a rustic look this year it was so much fun there are actually tons of things out the to create the look. Ok so the top left and bottom right are from Dollar General and the top right and bottom left are from Walmart.

Affordable Decorations

As always this Christmas season is flying and with all the running around decorating has been pushed down the list (at least in my house). There are so many beautiful decorations out there but here is an idea that is inexpensive, fun, and very beautiful.

Ok so I spotted some cute little trees at the Dollar Tree store and a cute little ceramic house. I have bought ALL my apothecary jars at the Goodwill for 99 cents to $1.99. So after looking at Pinterest I decided to try this!

So this is what you will........ from the Dollar Tree (or wherever you find them) The trees, and the ceramic house. Like I mentioned I bought the apothecary jar at the Goodwill for $1.99.

A Day at the Park

Last weekend hubby and I took our son Joaquin to the park. We had such a great time. Took food for the ducks, the weather was perfect, and took some pretty awesome pictures.

Check out parks around your home.Kids have so much for just running around and discovering things and not to mention its free. Joaquin had a blast feeding the ducks and hearing all their noises.

Hubby was holding Joaquin the entire time.... no worries :)

Take A Peak

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas here at the house. Hands down this year's Christmas tree is my favorite! I always take the time to choose the colors I want to focus my décor on and this year I went with a burlap/rustic kinda look.

Here is a sneak peek at the tree. I left my camera at work and I only got a picture with my phone.

Stay tuned for more pictures!!

Thankful

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We hosted Thanksgiving at the house and man oh man was it yummy! Hubby did all the cooking and I did the baking it was so much fun!

Now I am back at work tired and sleepy with no desire to do any black Friday shopping.. still in a food coma...but well worth it.

Here are some pictures from yesterday (Thanksgiving) of my niece Valentina and Joaquin.

Milk-Y Way the Thrifty Way

Yes I know, that title is cheesy but I couldn't help myself!! This is a collective haul of Milk Glass I've gotten throughout the year, little treasures I've found here and there. One of the many things I go to the thrift store is to find Milk Glass. Oh how my heart skips a beat every time I spot one...even better when I find one for a great price. Milk Glass has gotten more and more popular and with that the prices keep going up. Thrift stores are getting caught up on the popularity of it and jacking up the prices NO BUENO!

Below are some pictures of Milk Glass I've found. Enjoy!

Treasures at the thrift store..

Hey there! Welcome back. So you know how I am always bragging about how great the thrift store is. I usually only talk about the clothes I find for my son. Well not only do I find clothes, but I also find home décor, clothes for myself and books.

I don't know about you but I LOVE the smell of old books. Flipping through the pages just takes me back to my Elementary School Library. So YES I find books at the thrift store and I find the good ones!! OMG I can spend hours just browsing through the book section and finding hidden treasures. Let me tell you books can get expensive! And thrift store's offer prices at no more than $3.00. All the books I've found have been from $0.25 cents to $1.49. Always take the time to browse through books there are tons out there.

Here is my little man enjoying his Christmas books..

Pumpkin Patch Fun!

A couple of weeks ago my sister and I took the kids to a small pumpkin patch by our house. South Texas weather is HOT almost all year (seems like it anyways) so we had to play it up by arriving at the pumpkin patch super early and dressing the kids up in "fallish'' clothes.

I didn't want to take pictures of my son at the pumpkin patch dressed in summer clothes. Here is some of the pictures I took on my cell phone.

Third time's a charm..??

Many months later here I am. From the last time until now so many things have happened. I got a new job, my husband got a new position at work. Overall adjusting to new schedules and routines was a little hard work with a energetic 2 year old. After a couple of months our sleep schedule is where it should be, taking turns to pickup Joaquin and drop him off from daycare has been good.

So, with all that said I am going to try and give this another chance. I LOVE reading other blogs and getting ideas and recipes and all that good stuff. I am going to give it my best effort..

Here is a picture of my growing little man.

Have a great weekend!!

Almost there

This week has been so far a rough one. Don't want to be too TMI but it has to do with a Fibroid bothering me and causing all kinds of craziness in my body. I know it will pass but in the meantime the "going through it" phase is taking the best of me. I pray and ask God to restore my body and I have faith that in His time He will.
Party Party... this weekend is my son's party. I have everything I need and have recruited the help too (always important). I will show you guys the picture of the pinata tomorrow.

Until then happy Tuesday and we will talk tomorrow.

Party Supplies

Hey there! I have been busy trying to get last minute items for party cant believe its a few days away!! A lot of the stuff i bought came from Target. I have mentioned many many times my love (I'm sure I'm not alone) for Target. Their clearance, the fast  checkout, the fashion, the shoes..oh I can go on and on.

Ok so here are some of the items I've gotten so far.

So these little trays I got at Target at their dollar section. There were 6 in a packet and i bout 10 packages. I plan to use these to serve nachos.

These pretty napkins I found at the clearance section at Target. Bought 3 packages of each.

Whats a circus party without clowns?!?! Well these fun clown noses where bought on Ebay. They were under 4 dollars for 30.

Another Target find are these colorful plates. Clearance section..

This birthday banner I purchased at Hobby Lobby. Don't forget to use your 40% coupon!!

Another Target clearance find. I plan to serve Lemonade so these will be a fun way to add color.

These pretty little baggies i will use for popcorn and for cotton candy. The popcorn one I purchased at Hobby Lobby and the stripped one at Party City.

I found these baby's while grocery shopping at HEB. They were colorful and fun and only $1 each!

These dispensers I found at WalMart in their Kitchen section. I had been looking all over for these. Ebay had them for almost $10 and so did other websites but luckily i check there and found them for $2!! Look around before you buy!

My brother will be painting kids faces with these. Found them at Target (of course) and the color payoff is awesome! So this should add to the fun.

And last but not least these containers i picked up at Dollar Tree. I plan to use them for the watermelon, peanuts, Animal Crackers and some chips. These are great sizes and so cheap!!

Always plan ahead when it comes to a party. Look around for sales and coupons, and never forget to shop the dollar store!

I will be posting more pictures of the purchases I will make. Till next time !!

DIY-Circus Invitations

Hey there.. this is going to be a very simple post of how to create your own invites using word. I love doing as much DIY projects for my sons birthday party as I possibly can..and after many Google searches for ideas i saw several that I really liked but didn't want to purchase. This particular invitation is in shape of a ticket.. if you would like the word template please comment below and i will send it your way for you to print :)

So here is what you will need

red card stock paper
1" whole punch (bigger is probably better but this is what i had)
scalloped wavy edge scissors (hobby lobby)
paper cutter (or regular scissors to cut in half)

Once you cut the paper in half place your whole puncher on any corner and cut half a circle..do that to each corner.
Then taking your wavy scissors cut each end...one with the waves going in and one with them going out.

And there you have it.. simple and easy.

Step Right Up!!

My sons 2nd birthday was yesterday and we celebrated by taking him out to dinner with the family. We had such a good time that we even forgot it was a Thursday night and stayed out till 9pm (which is not too late but for us it is... oh the glories of getting older and being a parent ) a lot later than we should have.

Which brings me to the next topic BIRTHDAY PARTY!!! Last year Joaquin's birthday party theme was Cookie Monster. That boy LOVED cookie monster from the day he saw the blue stuffed animal of his at Target. This year i wanted to do something fun and colorful...so...we are doing a Circus theme!!! Oh the possibilities of Circus decor are endless but some of those things can get a bit pricey.

I will start off by showing you guys the goody bags....

Most of the stuff i got was from the dollar store. Here is a list of the things i put in the goody bags..

Dollar Tree Popcorn Container (2x1)
Candy
Mini Popcorn bags
Toys (Dollar Tree)
Tickets to add extra decor (Dollar Tree)
Straw (Dollar Tree)
Pencil (Dollar Tree)

I put the big bulky candy at the bottom to support the candy on top.

My lovely sister and I stayed till 1am finishing these up. The final step to finish these are wrapping them with clear cellophane ( I will post pictures up when that is done).

Next time i will post the rest of my party decor and where I got them...ohhhh and my DIY invitations :)

Till next time ..hope you all have a great weekend!
